I’m not much of a painter.
The plexiglass series was a series of paintings created in 1994 in just a few weeks. The plexiglass paintings were exploring paint on multiple levels. Each layer of plexiglass was dedicated to one color of paint. If the viewer stood directly in-front of the painting, the image lined up. If they shifted their view, the perspective would change and the image registration would not line up. They were also exploring paint as medium to surface. I find these paintings a significant step in my development as an artist. Not created for an exhibit, not created for an assignment, merely created with an idea and the need for exploration. I love them and wish I still did them. Perhaps one day. Here you’ll find a few of them for your viewing pleasure.
